One things I'm particularly excited about on the blog is a fun feature called Music Monday! I think we all can agree that Disney music is some of the best in the world (not that I'm a little biased or anything), and it deserves to be celebrated! Disney soundtracks have undoubtedly had an enormous influence on my generation, so I think a weekly nod to the tunes we know and love (and can recite from memory) will be quite apropos!
1) "Hawaiian Roller Coaster Ride", Lilo & Stitch
2) "Hakuna Matata", The Lion King
As a kid, the best thing about summer is the lack of a schedule (well, that and the pool parties and the ice cream and- oh, you get the picture). No school meant no homework, and no homework meant more time to play with friends and splash around in the sprinkler! Now that I'm grown-up (only on the outside), I don't have quite as much time to myself in the summer as I used to, but Timon and Pumbaa totally take me back to the long summer days of my youth and remind me not to take life too seriously. Besides, it's the perfect motto... what's a motto?! I dunno- what's a motto with you?
3) "Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah", Song of the South
4) "The Bare Necessities", The Jungle Book
When it comes to the summertime attitude, Baloo's got it down pat. Similar to Hakuna Matata, Mowgli's papa bear provides a worry-free philosophy, but he also reminds us that we don't need much to have a great time- just the "bare necessities". Sure, it can be difficult to have a blowout summer when your pocketbook is a little bit lacking (I'm looking at you, fellow college-kids), but Baloo's on to something! As long as you've got a few friends and a little imagination, the possibilities are endless!
5) "Under the Sea", The Little Mermaid
Really, this song requires no explanation. Instructions: Play song, jump in the pool, pretend you are Ariel. Repeat.

Have a Magical Monday!
